Governing Board Responsibilities

  • Establish and review the strategic plan for the organization, specify outcomes, constraints and desires.
  • Establish goals and objectives, review and approve plans to accomplish desired outcomes and monitor progress.
  • Identify information required to make sound policy decisions, establish policy and monitor for results.
  •  Determine the structure of operations.
  • Monitor and Evaluate organization performance.
  • Monitor / Evaluate board performance.
  • Initiate conflict resolution where required to move the organization ahead.
  • Engage competent legal counsel and an independent auditor as necessary.
  • Manage organization funds; determine where resources are to be allocated.
  • Represent the organization in the Community.
